It is much better than the standard bracket that comes with the QBox24. The adjustments are much better and more secure. Here are some photos I took with my Qbox24. I wonder if you would consider making a heavier duty cheetah stand - like the C12 but with a higher centre-pole so it doesnt nearly touch the ground. Then you could use the stand outside over un-even ground etc. To make the legs sprawl out you would push the centrepost down over the tip of your elevated foot - similar to close it until it engaged the raising mechanism. I wouldnt have a problem doing this - I do it sometimes with the C8's. Anyway just an idea - Ive thought about hacking a C8 to see if I could do it, in theory it should work. Have two of them and use them ALL the time. I added felt pad to the bottom of the stand to reduce clanking noise when it touches hard floor surface. They are made very very well, are really light weight and provide some awesome light. With a speedlight, I can find about .1 stop differences from the center to the edge of the diffusion material, which is some crazy even light!
